Catch Up
Uncle Scott here...well we have been delinquent in posting the happenings of Kelsey's trip to San Diego. Here is Kelsey to catch you up.

July 4th: US and I went to a Fourth of July Celebration in Chula Vista and then had a BBQ with Eric. At the event we saw
we whent to this fourth of july thing and it was fun there were kewl breakdancers they were giving out stuff into the audience then there was a magichian he was kinda lame but most magichina are then after that was an all american pie eating contest the pies were really big


July 5th: Swim class in the AM,
swim class was fun it was kewl to see max and kaya swim...after that we whent home

July 6th: Went to the YMCA in Santee to swim
today we whent swimming......and thatz it

July 7th: Beach in the evening, and of course, cribbage.
when to the beach whent boogy bording it was fun came home and played some cribbage

July 8th (today): Abby is sick. We stayed home until about noon until nap time. While the kids and Abby took naps Kelsey and I set out for the Italian Festa in Cardiff.

well we didnt go to this "italin festa" instead we drove around trying to find an open resterant to eat lunch we finally did after an hour or so then we ate and after that we whent bowling and we bothe suckd. then we went to henerys to get some food came home and thats it

Uncle Scott here... we presented Kelsey with a plan to go to the Rueben H. Fleet Science Center to see their science exhibit and watch an IMAX movie. She was less than enthused by this so we in stead ran a bunch of errands. We got off to a slow start having a lazy morning - Abby and Max went back to sleep for about an hour at 9am.

Abby took the kids to meet Jodi to pick up Alexander. Austin was stung by a bee the day we went to their house for a picnic. He had a bad reaction and the next day (7-3-06) his face swelled up like a half grapefruit. She took him to the pediatrician and was promptly admitted to he hospital.

After primping and hanging up one more load of wash, we were off to run some errands. First stop, Lakeside Library. I had to take back some CDs and get some books for Kaya. Kelsey was interested in getting some books and movies. Of course, she wanted some horror books. We found a couple. She also got some guitar magazines, a horror movie, and the 2005 Guiness Book of World Records. Upon leaving the library, she uttered a shocking statement. She said, "we can go home and read our books." I checked to see if she had a fever and looked skyward for the snow.

We then went to Big 5 to look at skate shoes for Kelsey. Big 5 is my favorite store because they have great bargains. The shoes were on sale for $19. We bought a pair but once we were in the car, she noticed that the shoes were size 10 even though the box said they were 10.5. We took them back and they did not have another 10.5, so we will check some other stores.

We swung by Sears to return a garden hose - Craftsman hoses have a lifetime warranty. Then we went to the gothic wardrobe mother lode: Hot Topics. This is Kelsey's favorite store. She bought two t-shirts, and a pair of arm cover things. We ran a couple other errands that were not very noteworthy.

When we got home, Kelsey cooked us a spaghetti and sausage dinner with garllic bread. It was delicious. The picture below shows Kaya enjoyng the food.

After dinner we did the unthinkable. We ordered Ozzfest tickets. Abby will take Kelsey to the concert. Kelsey is beside herself with joy. She was heard saying, "this is the coolest thing ever to happen to me." I was at once happy that she was so elated over the purchase, but also disappointed that the hight point of her 14 years would be Ozzfest.

The plan is to put Abby in all black, maybe some black eyelinger, and make her blend in with the crowd. Abby is worried that she will be "moshed" to death. I am worried that she will lose whatever hearing she has left in her left ear!

Abby and the kids went to the Barona reservation to see fireworks. Kelsey and I went to Viejas reservation to see the "Power of Night Fire," a multi media performance about Kumeyaay culture and legend. It was fun. Kelsey will tell you all about it.

To salmon or not to salmon,
Well today started out a little bit slow. We all woke up and were just sitting around doing well ya nothing but then around 10 we all got ready to go to Jodi's for some outstanding king and red salmon.

So we all got ready then we walked over to Jodi's carrying food to go with the salmon. On the way we took this pic of me and kaya rocking out once again

ok then we got there ate socialize...then we left...then we got home and of course it was the kids nap times...as they were sleeping me US and AA cleaned in and around the house after that me and US played cribbage then after that we cleaned CARS!!!!!!....exciting ehhh?...indeed well after that we just hung out again then we had dinner then i washed mali (here is a pic of me and mali)
and now we are getting the kids ready to go to bed..then most likely we all will play cribbage then we will maybe catch a movie on the TV!!!!(yesssss tv!!! :) )








OZZFEST HOPEFULLY!!!....well we will see :)

Playing in the surf...


Beach Recovery...

We went to the beach in Del Mar yesterday afternoon. We met a group of Bron and Eric's friends there for a picnic and swim. The food we great - yummy chicken and potato salad, homemade bread, and decadent brownies. Rebecca, a 16-year old daughter of one of the hosts, made most of the food. Abby made a yummy asian noodle salad and a pasta salad.

We went boogie boarding. The surf was much rougher than that of La Jolla Shores (Friday night) but we were able to catch some rad waves dude.

[Kelsey] umm....we went to the beach it was fun we went in the waves the water was very strong but it was fun then we ate some really good food...then i went out boogy boarding and that was fun...then we came home..i watched tv then i whent to bed

To mosh or not to mosh...Kelsey saw in a local events paper that Ozzfest is coming to San Diego next Sunday. She wants to go and thinks the world would stop -- and that we would not love her -- if she cannot go.
The cheapest tickets are $35. We are weighing the pros and cons. Pros: Kelsey will worship the ground we walk on for at least the next 12 months, we will be able to get Kelsey to do just about anything for us (clenaing, babysitting, walking on hot coals) in the week before the concert, we can get a glimpse at the youth counterculture in America, who knows we might like green eggs and ham, and we will see what Coors Amphitheater looks like. Cons: possibility of inner ear damage due to music volume, possiblity of physical injury by getting pulled into a mosh pit, minimm cost of about $100 (not inlcuding any long-term medical expenses as a result of the aforementioned injury possibilities), perpetuating the seemingly disturbed and twisted worldview and culture of Ozzie Osborne, Kelsey might not have any more money to buy gifts for family and friends. Mentos Explosion...
Becky added about 10 Mentos to a 2 liter bottle of diet coke and this was the result. It shot straight up and the diameter of the damage was pretty small. The kids loved it -- especially the adult ones!

Lazy Saturday Morning...

We are spending a lazy Saturday morning at home trying to stay cool. We have had extremely hot weather lately. Near 100 degrees all this week:( After naps we are going to the beach in Del Mar to a BBQ with some friends. We will get a chance to use our new boogie boards (bought last night). We are also going to experiment with Mentos and Diet Coke. Apparently if you add Mentos to a bottle of Diet Coke you get a huge geyser. We will take pics and post them here.

While we were trying to get this blog going, Max pulled the toilet paper from the bathroom to the living room. This is about 30 feet.
